This image of a South American church and the landscape captured my imagination and I had to make two iterations of this subject.
My first version had less saturated colors and softer brush strokes to capture the feeling of the scene.
Inspired by the success of the first piece, I wanted to paint it again, but this time to bring more saturated colors and details to the composition. Selecting different dimensions for this version allowed more focus on the grasses and their textures.
The first Spanish Church was featured in a number of art festivals and the second Spanish Church currently hangs in a Florida home.
